Raisin and Spice Oatmeal Recipe

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
In a medium saucepan, bring the water and milk to a boil over medium heat. Watch the pan carefully to avoid milk from boiling over.
Reduce heat to medium-low and add the oats and brown sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally, until oats are soft and have absorbed most of the liquid, about 7 minutes.
Remove pan from heat and stir in raisins, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and let sit for 3 minutes. Remove cover and serve!
- When heating the liquids on the stove, watch the pan carefully to avoid milk from boiling over. Once milk reaches boiling point, it will overflow quickly if not watched!
