How to Prep 5 Ingredient Breakfast Casserole Ahead of Time

    • The best way to prep ahead is to make the casserole in its entirety, allow it to cool, and store it in the fridge covered with plastic wrap or an airtight lid.
    • When ready to serve, warm the casserole in the oven for 15 minutes at 300 degrees F or until warmed through.
      OR
    • Make the egg mixture and pour it into the baking dish (don’t add tots yet!), cover the baking dish and refrigerate.
    • When you are ready to bake the casserole, add the frozen tater tots, and bake as directed according to the recipe instructions.

    Recipe Notes & Tips

    • There’s so much room for add-ins and flavor boosts! Use what is in your fridge. (See some of my best suggestions below.)
    • If you are preparing the casserole ingredients in advance to be baked the next morning, do not add the tater tots until you're ready to bake it.
    • I like to use to thick cut slices of bacon, but any bacon will work, You can even use chopped ham or sausage pieces.
